Our Take: What Ron’s lacks in charm it makes up for in damn good gumbo. Ron’s offers two variations – Mumbo Gumbo with which is a file gumbo with chicken, shrimp, crab, and okra, and Seafood gumbo with the usual ingredients. Ron’s also offers their Mumbo Gumbo with several different toppings such as fried catfish or fried oysters or our favorite – poached egg and potato salad. Don’t let the suburban trappings stop you as this is one of the best gumbo spots in the New Orleans areas as attested by the local crowd you will find there.
