Our Take: Few spots in New Orleans offers so many amenities with so much history as the Dew Drop. Revitalized in 2023, the Dew Drop is now a nightclub, hotel, and dining spot. And don’t forget a pool available on a daily basis! Begun as a barber shop and bar/restaurant in the late 1930’s, the Dew Drop has hosted some of the most important music figures in America. Ray Charles, Fats Domino, Irma Thomas and many others have graced this spot. Over the years, Dew Drop declined as a result of the death of the founder and the ravages of Hurricane Katrina. A new visionary, Curtis Doucette, Jr. has revived the Dew Drop as a special place with a broad offering of services. Dining is offered all week long (check hours) and parking for the hotel is in the surrounding neighborhood. In a alignment with community principles, hotel rooms are offered at sliding prices for locals, musicians, seniors, first responders, etc. The history alone is a great reason to visit this important venue – food, music, etc. make it a reason to return.
