Website Description: Commander’s Palace, nestled in the middle of the tree-lined Garden District, has been a New Orleans landmark since 1893. Known for the award-winning quality of its food and its convivial atmosphere, the history of this famous restaurant offers a glimpse into New Orleans’ storied past…
Our Take: One of the top dining spots in the city. The restaurant where Paul Prudhomme, Emeril Lagasse, and many others great chefs gained national recognition, Commander’s is a national treasure. Lunch, Jazz Brunch, and Dinner Menus offer the best of what New Orleans’s cuisine has to offer. Bread Pudding Souffle, Turtle Soup au Sherry, and Shrimp and Tasso Henican are noted specialties. Note Commander’s does have a dress code (that is enforced) and jackets are preferred for men. If you can, ask for a table in the glassed-in dining room with a beautiful view of the courtyard.
