Website Description: The Pelican Club Restaurant & Bar is a contemporary New Orleans restaurant located on historic Exchange Place in the French Quarter. Since opening the doors to the renovated 19th century Creole townhouse in 1990, chef and owner, Richard Hughes has offered a diverse menu based in south Louisiana tradition with French, Italian, and Asian influences reflecting the rich culinary culture of the city.
Our Take: Consistently good, consistently innovative. Chef Hughes has truly combined Cajun and French to create memorable dishes. A three course offering at $55 is one of the city’s best bargains. Appetizers may include Shrimp Bisque, Gumbo or Tuna Poke. Entrees may include Panéed Gulf Fish, Foie Gras and Cornbread stuffed Quail, or Trio of Duck. Located in a “quiet” lane off Bienville in the Quarter, Pelican Club is a great choice for an upscale dining experience. Discounted parking is offered.
