Our Take: With lots of options (food or just river tours) New Orleans Steamboat Company and its flagship Natchez steamboat afford a great way to see the river that made New Orleans what it was and is. Note – the Natchez steamboat can be out of service for maintenance or inspection so there is the possibility of a sister ship taking her place. The Natchez tours can be booked with or without a dining option and therefore the cost will vary. The Natchez has its own 32-note Calliope that plays before some cruies. Acccessibility is not available for upper decks and dining options do not include gluten-free, vegan, or kosher meals. Alcohol is available at three bars and only service animals are allowed. Finally, unless weather is especially dangerous, cruises proceed rain or shine.
