 Our Take:This small chain won’t stay small very long. With only one location in the New Orleans area, Atomic won as runner-up in the 2024 Nola.com best burger vote. And the reason is simple – this place has a great burger. Offered in 5 styles – Atomic (usual toppings), Green Chile, Jam (bacon-onion jam), Mushroom Swiss, and Fried Chicken (!) – burgers can be full sized or slider sized. Fries are fresh and Shakes come in flavors not usually seen (Nutella Marshmallow, Chocolate-Covered Banana, and others.) Certainly not “gastro burgers” but Atomic’s burgers stack up well against any of the national chains including 5 Guys or Shake Shack (located just down Veterans Boulevard.) Plus Atomic is a local chain!
