From Nola.com critic Brett Anderson, “The kitchen nails the landings on these idiosyncratic versions of French-Creole cuisine because chef Brian Larson doesn’t ask his kitchen to execute dishes that fall outside the restaurant’s mission. The mission is to produce Clancy’s food for Clancy’s customers, whose confidence in the food’s reliability frees them to appreciate the restaurant’s intangibles”
Our Take: This Audubon-based elegant restaurant is rated as one of the best in the city by locals. The sophisticated menu features first courses such as Fried Oysters with Brie, Fried Eggplant with Aioli sauce, and crabmeat salad. Entrees can include Risotto and Lobster and Mushrooms, Paneed Veal Annunciation, and Smoked Duck with Dirty Rice. A perfect spot when one wants to celebrate a special occasion with a special meal. Reservations (by phone) are mandatory and accepted up to one month in advance. Lunch available on Thursday and Friday only.
