Our Take: At the foot of Magazine Street, Gris-Gris pays homage to Southern cooking with a New Orleans flair. The Oyster BLT features fried oysters with pork belly, chicken gizzard grillads stand up to a flavorful brown gravy sauce. Entrees include Shrimp and Grits, seared whole fish, and “My Mom’s Chicken & Dumplings.” Certainly not light fare but not overpowering, Gris-Gris flaunts an alternative take on Southern cooking.
