Our Take: Just down the street from Commander’s Palace, a new take-out spot (with just a few tables) featuring a wide variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner items. From coffees and pastry, to gumbo and salads, to sandwiches and crepes. In fact, crepes take center stage and range from the classic ham and cheese to sweet crepes such as Strawberry or Bananas Faster in a tribute to Commander’s history as the inventor of the Foster dessert. Frozen quarts of turtle soup and gumbo are also available. A great alternative when you crave Commander’s without a reservation.
