Our Take: If you visit the website for Mosquito Supper Club, you might be put off. There are lots of rules and warnings about this seafood meca. We urge you to forge ahead as Chef/Owner Melissa Martin is passionate about her cuisine, her restaurant, and her employees. A 25% tip is added to very bill to provide staff with a living wage – just as it should be. Communal tables are offered where diners can meet like-minded people. (Smaller private tables are also available for booking.) Ms. Martin’s ever changing tasting menu reflects her deeps roots and respect for Louisiana cuisine. She hovers, tastes, greets, and otherwise fosters a dining and community oasis. And beyond the good vibes, Mosquito Supper Club offers great food from locally sourced purveyors. You just won’t find a restaurant like this outside Louisiana.
