Billy Solitario finds beauty among the sand dunes, coastal savannas, and barrier islands along the Louisiana and Mississippi Gulf Coast…Solitario, who refers to himself as a “classic realist”, explores various subjects, including landscapes, portraits and still life paintings.

My roster is a small group of regionally and nationally recognized artists, both emerging and established; artists whose work is united by the use of rich complex color, technical excellence and a strong individual point of view and signature. Located in New Orleans’ historic Julia Row, the Degas Gallery offers fine contemporary paintings and drawings characterized by vibrant color and surface texture. The Gallery is named in celebration of French Impressionist Edgar Degas (1834-1917), who briefly visited and painted in New Orleans in winter 1872-73.
